1) Who we are
"Psalmthing About Mary" (the "App") is developed and published by the developer identified on the App Store listing ("we", "us"). Contact: tylerferrington@gmail.com.
2) What this policy covers
This policy explains what data the App collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
3) What we (and our providers) collect
- Usage and analytics data: screen views, feature interactions (e.g., getting a verse, saving/unsaving verses, navigation events), app version, device/OS information, timestamps, and general diagnostics/crash data. Analytics events may include non-personal identifiers like bookId/chapterId/verseId.
- Local app data (on your device): saved verses, cached scripture content, and configuration/preferences. This is stored on your device and is not transmitted to us unless noted below.
- Network data routed to content providers: when fetching scripture content, your device connects to the scripture API service; like any internet request, your IP address is visible to that service for delivery and security.
- Notifications: we use iOS local notifications (scheduled on-device). We do not collect or store push tokens, and no external push service is used.
We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information.
We do not collect information that directly identifies you (like your name or email). We collect limited usage and diagnostics data to operate and improve the app, and our service providers may process device information and IP address to deliver services.
We do not sell your personal information.
4) How we collect data
- Automatically via analytics SDKs integrated in the App (e.g., Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics by Google) when you use the App.
- Through your interactions with features (e.g., requesting a verse, saving a verse).
- Via standard HTTPS requests to scripture content providers.
- Through iOS notification permissions and your responses to notifications (on-device).
5) Why we use the data
- To operate and improve the App, understand feature usage, and fix crashes/performance issues.
- To provide scripture content and related features you request.
- To schedule and deliver local notifications you opt into.
6) Legal bases (EU/UK users)
- Legitimate interests: analytics, diagnostics, and App improvement.
- Consent: notification permissions and any tracking that relies on identifiers where consent is required.
7) Sharing and disclosure
- Service providers: We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) for analytics and diagnostics. We use a scripture content API (e.g., api.scripture.api.bible) to deliver content. These providers process data on our behalf according to their policies.
- No sale of data: We do not sell your personal information.
- Legal and safety: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or integrity of the App.
8) Data retention
- Analytics and diagnostics: retained in accordance with provider defaults/configuration (for Firebase, typically months to up to ~14 months, subject to our settings). We retain only as long as necessary for the purposes above.
- Local device data (saved verses, caches): remains on your device until you delete it (e.g., clear cache) or uninstall the App.
9) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10) Your choices and rights
- Analytics: We do not use analytics for advertising or marketing and do not collect advertising identifiers. You can limit certain analytics at the OS level where supported.
- Notifications: You can enable/disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings > Notifications.
- Cache and saved data: You can clear saved items and caches by uninstalling the App.
- GDPR/CCPA and similar rights: Subject to your jurisdiction, you may request access, deletion, correction, or portability of your information, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise rights, contact us at tylerferrington@gmail.com.
11) Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us to request deletion.
12) International data transfers
Your data may be processed in countries (including the United States) where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" above and may provide additional notice within the App where appropriate.
